The Sacre Coere was built in 1873 in the center of Montmartre on a large hill. The large dome towers a whole 272 feet overtop the Montmartre hill. The Sacre Coere is well known for its architectural contrast with the other contemporary style buildings in France. This massive building is kept white because of the Chateau-Landon stones used in construction. When it rains the stone used reacts with the water making it act like a bleach.
