Ryan was born on December 9, 1982 in Suffern, New York. He attended Clarkstown South High School. His senior year he rushed for 2000 yards and 26 touchdowns and was named USA Today New Jersey Player of the Year. From there he went on to college at the University of Notre Dame. He had a good four years there and was drafted by the New York Giants in 2005. He was traded to the Green Bay Packers on September 1st, 2007 for a future 6th round draft pick. Since midway through the '07 season, Grant has been the starter and has done a great job.
