Nonpoint formed in January 1997 in Fort Lauderdale, South Florida. However, the members of the band originally met in October 1996 when Andrew Goldman and KB together were in another band called "Fuse"

Nonpoint gained notoriety by becoming king of South Florida's then burgeoning metal scene. They often played with local bands such as Puya, Endo Darwin's Waiting Room and Groovenics - all of which later signed with different record labels.

Nonpoint's first album Separate Yourself was released independently in 1997 and was followed by Struggle in 1999 and Statement in 2000. After several tours with artists such as Sevendust, Linkin Park and Staind, the band stepped back into the studio and returned in the summer of 2002 with Development. The band spent the following year touring extensively, most notably making an appearance at Ozzfest and WKRLs K-Rockathon. They released Recoil in 2004, a 13 track album that included a cover of the Phil Collins hit, "In the Air Tonight".

Their fifth major album To the Pain was released on November 8, 2005. The first single of the album, "Bullet With a Name", reached the Top 5 of the most played new songs in its first week of release (October 2005). The album has so far sold over 100,000 copies in the US.

Beginning in late 2005, they began touring North America with Sevendust, later concluding the highly successful three month tour in New Hampshire. They will be filming their April 29 show in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for a live CD/DVD combo set to be released in the fall of 2006. A title has now been confirmed, it is to be named "Live and Kicking".

The theme song for the movie Miami Vice, featuring Collin Farrell and Jamie Foxx, is Nonpoint's cover of Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight".

Two singles "Bullet with a Name", and "Alive and Kicking" are featured on the soundtrack to THQ/Yukes WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007 video game set for release on Playstation 2 and Xbox 360.

Nonpoint toured on the third annual Music as a Weapon Tour with Disturbed, Stone Sour and Flyleaf. The band announced via their MySpace blog, that To the Pain has sold over 100,000 copies.

On December 23rd, 2006, Nonpoint had their last concert for a 'long time' at The Machine Shop in Flint, Michigan. Nonpoint has played here countless times, saying it's one of their most favorite venues.
