Marvel. One of the largest, most expansive comic companies in the entire world. For decades, Marvel thrived off of their great, uncanny, and exciting stories about the adventures of super-heroes, all starting from each of their own origin stories.. As time went by, Marvel began to create new heroes with more storylines and more origins, and as great as business was for them ...a problem arose. The problem was that Marvel couldn't attract newer readers to their comics. The heroes stories had become so expansive and so cluttered with story crossovers, new heroes, and an infinite amount of character development, that it became difficult for new readers to catch up on the characters, or understand their motivations. What's more, when people went back to read the origin stories, they found the stories to be incredibly dated and cheesy and uninteresting. Something needed to be done.

Then, something was done. In late 2000, Marvel's executives came up with a plan. This plan was to completely reboot the entire marvel universe. Start everything over. Begin with a clean slate. Re-Write history. However, the plan was not to simply star over. No, the plan was to re-write the universe itself. Take the heroes we though we knew, and turn them on their heads. Create brand new, modernized, gritty origins for the heroes. Change, reverse, or just make up entirely new character motivations and costumes. Create an all new realm of reality, that is just waiting to be explored.

This...Is The Ultimate Universe.
