Early Life
Aubrey Drake Graham was born in Toronto, Ontario and is the son of Dennis Graham, a drummer who worked with Jerry Lee Lewis. Drakes father is from Memphis, Tennessee, and is African-American, and his mother is a white Jewish Canadian.

His parents got divorced when he was only five, and he was raised by his mother in Toronto, spending summers in Tennessee with his father.

Acting Career
Drake is orignally known for playing Jimmy Brooks on the TV series Degrassi:The Next Generation. He played the role of a high school basketball star who became physically disabled after being shot by a classmate.

Besides Degrassi, he has been on several other televsion shows, but for one episode only. He has also stared in 2 television movies, and played the role of A/V Jones in the movie Charlie Bartlett

Early Music
Drake released his first mixtape in February of 2006, titled Room for Improvment, which was very successful. He released his second mixtape Comeback Season in 2007 and worked with Trey Songz and Lil Wayne. In 2007 he became the first unsigned Canadian rapper to have a music video aired on BET. In 2008, Lil Wayne was given some of Drake's music and called Drake to fly out to Houston to go on tour with him. Drake became part of Lil Wayne's crew, Young Money, but still was unsigned.

The Present
On February 13, 2009, Drake released his third mixtape So Far Gone, for free download. The mixtape includes Lil Wayne, Bun B, Omarion, Lloyd and Trey Songz, and recieved over 2,000 in the first 2 hours of release. It was so successful, that it eventually made it on the radio, with the songs "Best I Ever Had" and "Successful". Because of the succcess of the two singles, it was released as an EP with only 5 songs from the mixtape.

On June 29, 2009 Drake signed a record deal with Young Money Entertainment.

On the July 4, Billboard Hot 100, "Best I Ever Had" placed #3, and the Young Money hit "Every Girl", featuring Drake placed at #10. Drake is only the second artist to have his first two top 10 hits in the same week.

He plans to release his debut album, Thank Me Later in March 2010.

Personal Life
Drake is good friends with many of his Degrassi cast-mates, especailly Shane Kippel, who played his best friend Spinner on the series.

In many of his songs, Drake raps about past relationships, including those with high school classmates.

There are online rumors about a relationship with Rihanna, but both denied it, stating they were "just good friends".
