Gilmore Girls was thought up and created by Amy Sherman-Palladino. She was at a meeting pitching ideas for shows she could write, and when she saw that they did not look interested, she made up a show about a mother and daughter who are really like best friends and they loved it. Amy and her husband Dan gave us six wonderful years of Gilmore Girls before leaving the show because of a money dispute. After that David S. Rosenthal picked up the show as the writer, but everyone knew that no one could follow in Amy Sherman-Palladino's foot steps.
