Everyone has to love the characters in Gilmore Girls. From the minor roles, to the major ones, we all love them. Characters come in and out of the story line, and even though we hate them sometimes *cough*Christopher*cough*, we still appreciate and like them sometimes also. Here, I have mentions some of the characters that have made the biggest impact to me on the show over the years.

Lorelai Gilmore: Rory’s mother, and one of the most loved Gilmore Girls. As a thirty-something mother on the show, gilmoregirls.orgshe creates a home for her daughter that she had at the age of sixteen. She needs no men in her life as she forms a bond with her daughter that nothing can ever break. She is quirky, talkative, independent, determined, and as Rory stated, “90% water, 10% caffeine.” And everyone knows, Lorelai loves her coffee. Especially from Luke’s Diner. Which just happens to be the man we all know she is destined to be with. Lorelai is the mother we all want and wish for, and we are just lucky enough to have her every Tuesday night.

Rory Gilmore: Rory is sixteen and determined. She knows she want to go to Harvard, and she gilmorememories.comwill succeed. She gets accepted into Chilton, becomes Valedictorian, and gets accepted into Princeton, Harvard and Yale. So everyone knows she’ll go to Harvard, right? Wrong! She goes to Yale! And there she will meet Logan Huntzberger. The boy she finally turns into a relationship man. But when he proposed in season 7, she turns him down, and takes the path to independence, which lands her a job on the Brack Obama campaign. What more could Rory want? The answer to that is to be more like her mother Lorelai, but she already is.

Luke Danes : If Prince Charming wore flanel, a baseball cap and drove "the oldest truck known to man", Luke gilmoregirls.orgwould be the perfect contender. He's been keeping Lorelai alive, literally, for almost ten years, serving her burgers, fries and an unlimited supply of coffee. His feelings for Lorelai have been, ironically, for a long time obvious to everyone except Lorelai. The two have been together since the openning night of the Dragonfly Inn, when Luke made his intentions clear to Lorelai. Other than Lorelai, Luke had a longterm relationship with Rachel, a photographer, and was briefly married to Nicole, a lawyer. We are now happy to announce that he no longer owns a single bed.

Lane Kim: Rory’s best friend. She is from a hard-core god-loving family, but her passion is rock music. She finally starts a band called Hep-Alien and marries the lead guitarist, Zack. They have to adorable twins, Steven and Quan.

Jess Mariano : Luke's nephew and Rory's equal when it comes to literary taste, Jess was the bad boy of Stars Hollow the minute he got off the bus. He was the cause of Rory and Dean's second break-up, and was blamed for the car accident that fractured Rory's wrist. He and Rory dated for some months. However, Jess's lack of attendance in school and inability to deal with his disfunctionnal family, made it impossible for them to stay together. Their intense relationship filled with books and music ended when Rory graduated from High School and Jess left Stars Hollow. He later came back, declaring his love for Rory, who made it clear that she could no longer deal with his unstability.

Richard and Emily Gilmore: Rory’s grandparents and Lorelai’s parents. Even though they are first portrayed as stuck up rich snobs, by season seven we can’t help to love them. In the end all they want is to be close to there daughter and granddaughter.

Sookie St. James: Lorelai’s best friend, the chef at the inn, and the business partner of Lorelai. Who can’t love Sookie? She is so quirky as we watch her fall in love with Jackson, mentor Lorelai, be there for Rory and have two, (and the third on it’s way,) wonderful kids. And not to mention she must be the most amazing chef ever!

Christopher Hayden : One of the first guys in Lorelai's life. Probably the one who had the largest impact... he is, after all, Rory's father. Since Rory's birth, he and Lorelai had never been "in the same place at the same time", that is, until a couple of years ago when he made a visit to Stars Hollow following Rory's car accident. However, the birth of his second daughter Gigi, to his girlfriend Sherry, interrupted any possibilities that existed between the two at the time. Christopher has two daughters and has never been married. He is currently single. To this day, I still have a glimpse of hope that he and Lorelai will one day be together.

Dean Forester : Rory's first love and longest relationship to date. They dated for more than two years, with minor interruptions. They were also together for a couple of months during Rory's second year of college. First known as the mysterious new guy at Stars Hollow High, Dean gave Rory a hand made bracelet on her sixteenth birthday and later built her a car. It was Dean who escorded Rory to her Debutante Ball... Rory has shared many firsts with her high school sweetheart. Dean had a girlfriend in Boston, Beth, before moving to Stars Hollow. He is currently working through the hardships of a high school marriage, with his wife Lindsey.
