FT Island is a K-pop boy band from South Korea, from F&C Music.
The name FT ISLAND stands for Five Treasure Island, with each of the five members being treasure. The bands official color is sunshine yellow, and their fans (primadonnas), carry yellow flags known as pentasticks and written on there is "ft island". FT Island debuted in June 7th, 2007, with their debuted album call, "Cheerful Sensibility". But before that, they showed up in the TV show call, "Wanna Be My Girlfriend?" on MNET. FT Island is unique and play their own instruments. Rather than a standard boy band in Korea, most boy bands in the K-pop industry don’t usually play instruments of their own; they'll usually dance to the song. But unlike FT Island, each member plays an instrument (drummer, piano, and guitar). On January 28th, 2009, FT Island member, Oh Won Bin (guitarist) suddenly left the group. He started as a member of the group, but said that there were long time differences with the other members and the music personally, and stopped activities with them. Not too long after Won Bin left, new member, Song Seung Hyun joined the group in February. All the team members welcomed Song Seung Hyun and with that, they continued with their activities as planned. Song Seung Hyun debuted with them in their mini album call "Jump Up" and continued on from there. |
