Stella McCartney was born in London, England in 1971. Stella's parents are Paul McCartney, ex-beatle, and Linda McCartney, famous rocker photographer. At the age of fifteen, Stella was already working with fashion. She helped Christian Lacroix on his first couture collection. Then Stella went on to study fashion design at London's Central St Martins College of Art & Design. At Stella's graduation show, she showed her line and recieved a lot of recognition for employing friends Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss as models. In December of 1996, a man came into McCartney's boutique and described himself as the owner of a clothing store in Rome, Italy. He asked her many questions about her designs and weeks later he came in to ask her if she would like

to be chief designer at Chloe, the French couture house. Stella was very excited about this job, but resigned four years later, to enter in a partnership with the Gucci Group.

The line opened three stores. Later, Stella decided to include perfume in her line. In 2000, she recieved the VH1/Vogue Designer of the Year award by her father. McCartney has designed a line of clothing and accessories for H&M. This helped sales due to the designer name. In August 2003, Stella married Alasdhair Willis, a publisher.
