John Galliano was born on November 28, 1960 in Gibraltar. His father is Gibraltarian and his mother is Spanish. During his school years he moved to London to attend Wilson's School in Wallington. In 1984, he graduated in fashion design from St. Martin's School of Arts. During this year he created a collection inspired by the French Revolution, which he called Les Incroyables. He recieved many positive reviews on this collection. The whole collection was bought and sold to London fashion boutique Browns.

After his whole collection was bought and sold he started his fashion career and

made his own label. He was awarded British Designer of the Year in 1987, 1994, and 1995. In the 1990s, Galliano moved to Paris to work with other big fashion names, like Dior.

John Galliano is a busy man, between his own line and dior, he makes about six couture and ready-to-wear collections a year and a new mid-season collection under his own name. John Galliano has designed dresses for many celebrities, such as Charlize Theron, Kate Moss, Cate Blanchett, and Nicole Kidman.
